Carolyn Mark 8×10

December 11th, 2011 by Randy 0

Here is an 8x10 glossy for Carolyn Mark, circa her Party Girl Mint debut time.

In the photo are Garth Johnson and Tolan McNeil, her two bandmates at the time.

Longtime Carolyn pal and Victoria-ite, J. McLaughlin — and a few years after these photos were taken, the artist who created the cover for Carolyn’s Nashville tribute album —  was the photographer.

Bill in 701

December 8th, 2011 by Randy 0

Over Bill’s shoulder is one of the steel load bearing columns holding the Dominion Building together, the skeleton of which you can see in photos in two of the three elevators, where a huge multiple-photo collage of historical images from the Dominion Building’s early life is on display, a present to the building spearheaded by former building manager, Bonnie Tegart, the original collage of which was hanging on a wall in her office on the fourth floor, directly across from…

Then again, maybe not; maybe he was the PSA Production Manager or something.

Anyways, there is no real Mint reason for…

One of the Greatest Promotional Items Ever?

November 28th, 2011 by Randy 0

Sorry the photo shows a wonderfully sharp wall and shelf, and a somewhat blurry can of meat.

This was a promotional item given out to campus/community radio stations, reviewers, and others, to publicize the 1991 album, Dim the Lights, Chill the Ham, by Toronto’s instro-kings, Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, the wordless three-piece consisting of Don Pyle, Reid Diamond (rest in peace), and Brian Connelly — on the Cargo Records label, when the label was a rather very large and influential releaser of…
