Photos taken in the Peewee’s Playhouse children’s party room in the Philippe Starck-designed Paramount Hotel, around the corner from the amazing and long-since-gone Howard Johnson Diner that had wonderful yet cranky matriarchal servers, across the street from the Marriott Marquis Hotel which was the former site of the NMS (New Music Seminar) Conference.

Randy as a pot-bellied Cub Scout trophy winner, and shirtless Bill at the top of the stairs at his old 19th Avenue house a/k/a “the cub house”. Our Virtual Pet Is Sick

Today, we learned that Milo, the sea otter in the otter exhibit in the Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park whom we here at Mint faithfully check in on several times a day thanks to the aquarium’s webcam (here: http://www.vanaqua.org/ottercam/), has lymphoma, a cancer of the immune system’s lymphatic cells that is the seventh or so most common cancer in humans.

According to the aquarium note, lymphoma in sea otters is very rare, and Milo will be kept outside of public viewing…

This Makes Me So Happy.

If you ever drop by the Mint office, we’ll likely offer you some sugary pink gum, possibly because we have a soft spot for this classic cub video. The comics found inside the video’s gum are way better than the originals as they feature the cub girls (and Mint Randy!). This makes me so happy.
